That would be hurricane as in Juliet, a four-day storm of wind, rain and mud, which blazed a very unwelcome trail through the course and surrounding landscape in the spring of 2001.
When a hurricane wants to play through, no foursome in the world is going to slow her down and Juliet did more than $5 million dollars of damage to the course by the time the wind had stopped and the rain had ended.
The following is from Eric Grindereng, Director of Golf
The golf course contracted a management company, Intrawest Golf, to manage the facility beginning January 2002. Improvements were made to the golf course, the club house and extensive training was done with the guest service staff. As part of the management contract, Intrawest Golf conceded they would lend the "Raven" brand and name to the facilty. "Raven" is a brand name owned by Intrawest Golf that they use on some of their very high end facilities. When the management contract was cancelled in 2005, the name was changed back to the Cabo San Lucas Country Club. Because the "Raven" is a brand name, it is recognized by many people throughout the US and now Canada.
